Clarissa teaches for the Graduate Studies Department of the College of Mass Communication. Her research interests revolve around news media effects, framing, political knowledge, political engagement, political attitudes, and public opinion. She received her MA and PhD from Communication from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to academic research she conducts policy research to support areas of population, education, and governance in the Philippines. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Communication, Communication Theory, and Asian Journal of Communication. She teaches graduate and undergraduate level classes in quantitative research methods, communication theory, public opinion, and political communication.
